The federation has listed more than 115 family associations for you. A site that can help you greatly. By checking this site, maybe your last name is present in this list. In addition, by doing some small searches on the Internet, you will find other families of Quebec origin that are not in the list of the FAFQ such as, for example, the Généalogie des Allard, the Association des Vézina d'Amérique, etc...

Genealogical dictionary of canadian families

First genealogical dictionary published between 1871 and 1890, it is the oldest dictionary relating the history of the principal Franco-Canadian families to New France. It is a huge work published by the abbot Cyprien Tanguay (1819-1902), who is regarded as the father of the French-Canadian and Canadian genealogy. Essential tool to develop or check your genealogy.

Hommage à mes ancêtres

This book introduces us to the first generation, that of Jean Hérou dit Bourgainville who arrived in the country in the 1670s. Settled in the Trois-Rivières region, the Hérou dispersed over the years to several municipalities in the county of Joliette and emigrated to the Témiscamingue region.
